How to Go Live on TikTok Without 1,000 Followers
The 1K Barrier is a Myth
You don’t actually need a thousand followers to go live on TikTok. I was able to do it with only 85, and honestly, the 1k requirement stops way too many creators from starting.
If you’ve been waiting to hit that magic number before streaming its time to stop. There is a specific workaround involving TikTok's desktop tools that bypasses the restriction entirely so let me show you how to set it up.
The Setup: TikTok Studio
The secret lies in TikTok Studio, not the mobile app. First, make sure you’re logged in to TikTok on your browser cause this is crucial for the redirect to work smoothly later.
On a new tab, search for "TikTok Studio," download the application to your computer, and install it.
Once you open the software, click Login and since you’re already logged in on your browser, you can just click Continue, and it will bounce you right back into the Studio interface without typing your password again.

Bypassing the Requirement
Here is where the magic happens. Before you start setting up scenes, click on your profile picture in the top right center and look for the option to Request Access.
Ignore the 1000 followers text. Just hit request.
Important Prerequisite: While this bypasses the follower count, TikTok does manually review your channel. You need to have posted 2 to 3 high-quality videos before trying this. I've tested this on two other accounts and as long as the content was good, they got approved immediately.
If you’ve done it right, you won't see the option anymore because you’ve already been given access.
The Catch (and The Mobile Fix)
There is one limitation: this method initially only grants you access to go live via TikTok Studio (PC/Mac). You won't immediately see the "Go Live" button on your phone.
However, I found a way to trigger mobile access, though it varies by account.
Here is the strategy:
- Add your phone as a source in TikTok Studio.
- Go live casting gameplay.
- Stay on long enough to gain some viewers, followers, or—best case scenario—gifts.
If you generate enough engagement or receive gifts through the Studio stream, TikTok’s algorithm often unlocks the mobile live feature for your account shortly after.
